OASIS also offers professional aid to organizations within the social and health sectors of countries in which parts of the population have been traumatized as a result of war, torture or other forms of organized violence.
The aid may consist of, among other things:
Assistance in identifying the need for psychosocial help.
Identification of relevant local people with the qualifications and resources to enter into psychosocial rehabilitation work.
Help planning the aid effort in cooperation with local authorities, including the possible establishment of an emergency relief team.
Assistance in organizing and coordinating the relief effort.
Developing and carrying out training programs for local social and health personnel, with a view to building up the local capacity for psychosocial treatment and rehabilitation.
Carrying out programs with special reference to training of trainers in psychosocial assistance and relief work.
Supervision of psychosocial work with people traumatized as a result of organized violence.
Evaluation of psychosocial rehabilitation projects after organized violence.
